BUS & METRO TICKETS

It is not possible to buy a ticket on the bus; you need to purchase it before the ride. You can buy the tickets in newsagent stores such as Pressbyrån or 7-Eleven. Pressbyrån can be found at the airport and next to majority of underground and local train stations and in many other places. Also on many bus stops (but not all) there are ticket automats. For travelling within 1 zone (ECDC and central Stockholm are within 1 zone) you will need 2 tickets (“units”). A ticket per 1 unit costs 30 SEK. You can also buy 16 “unit” strips (Remsa) for 180 SEK. When you enter the bus, your ticket will be stamped, and it is valid for 1 hour after the stamp time (i.e. you can change transport, but do not have to purchase another ticket within one hour).
