Training

The Training Section leads the ECDC Strategy for Capacity Strengthening and Workforce Development for disease prevention and control in the European Union. We work in partnership with national and international public health organisations to provide applied, competency based training activities to professionals at national and community levels. In addition, we strengthen and further develop an EU-wide network of partner organisations for training in all relevant areas of disease prevention and control and provide a centre function to gain access to training resources for all network partners.  IN FOCUS

Welcome to EPIET and EUPHEM Cohort 2014!

On 15 September, the 39 incoming EPIET and EUPHEM fellows of the 2014 cohort started their learning experience in intervention epidemiology or public health microbiology at their training sites. On 29 September 2014, the fellows begin their three weeks’ Introductory Course in Spetses, Greece. During this first stage of the programme, they are getting to know each other, the coordinators and facilitators. They are also learning about their sites and the administrative challenges they can encounter by moving to a new country.  In 2014, the incoming fellows of EPIET and EPIET-associated programmes benefit from a new edition of the EPIET/EAP curricular process guide.

The ECDC Training team wishes them all the best during their training and hopes they will make the most of their learning experience!
