Call for ECDC Fellowship Programme (EPIET & EUPHEM), Cohort 2017

You can now apply to become a fellow of the two-year ECDC Fellowship Programme in the EU-track (spending two year in a public health setting in another country). The programme, which has one path for field epidemiology (EPIET) and one for public health microbiology (EUPHEM), aims to:

 
·         strengthen the surveillance and control of infectious diseases and other cross-border health threats or  issues of public health concern in the EU/EEA Member States and at EU level;
·         enhance response capacities for effective field investigation and communicable disease control at national and community level to meet public health threats;
·         strengthen the European network of public health professionals through use of shared standards and methods,  good practices and common public health objectives;
·         support cascading of training and capacity building within the Member States;
·         facilitate multi-disciplinary cooperation in the above fields.
    
Who can apply
The training is aimed at professionals with a minimum of:
·   post-secondary education (at the level of Graduate diploma or Masters’ diploma) in medicine, epidemiology,   biology, microbiology, veterinary medicine, pharmacology, biomedicine, public health or other health sciences, and 
  • ·   at least three years of relevant professional experience; or
  • ·    PhD degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the fellowship.
For applicants with a background in laboratory sciences, previous experience in public health and epidemiology is an advantage.
 
The Fellowship Programme will start on 11 September 2017.

Signature of:
- Training Sites Agreements with ECDC
- employment contracts between training sites and successful candidates

Please note that applicants must be nationals of a Member State of the EU/EEA and should have experience in public health, epidemiology or microbiology.
