Early warning and response to non-food-borne zoonotic outbreaks

Objective and Expected outcome of the consultation:

The overall objective is to improve early detection and response to outbreak of zoonotic diseases at the EU level through strengthened collaboration with the animal health sector and other agencies and organizations working at the animal-human interface. This consultation will focus on non-food-borne zoonotic diseases and should achieve the following specific objectives: 

  • To identify the organizations and agencies working on zoonotic diseases at EU level and understand their role and responsibility: stakeholder analysis
  • To map the activities for early detection and response at the animal–human interface and define how ECDC could contribute to the existing activities
  • To identify priority areas for collaboration between the animal and human sector at EU level.
