As of 3 September, KEELPNO has reported 50 cases of malaria since the beginning of 2012 in Greece. 07 Sep 2012 ECDC is publishing the first external quality assurance scheme (EQA) for Bordetalla pertusis PCR, participated by 21-one laboratories from 21 European Union/European Economic Area countries. 07 Sep 2012 On 3 August 2012, a probable case of dengue infection was reported in a resident in west Greece (Agrinio). The 84 year old patient, who had severe underlying conditions and septicaemia, died on 30 August 2012. 05 Sep 2012 The Center for Disease Control in the U.S. has reported an outbreak of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) in a campsite in Yosemite National Park, California. 05 Sep 2012 Today, ECDC publishes an update to its 2008 Guidance on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in Europe. The update follows the introduction of vaccination programmes in 19 European countries and new evidence from research studies over the past four years. 04 Sep 2012 From 1 August 2011 to 27 August 2012, 117 confirmed cases of S. Stanley infections have been reported in five EU Member States, for which Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) pattern is available and identical. 03 Sep 2012 While many European countries are progressing towards TB elimination, the target of less than 1 TB case/ 1,000,000 population is still far from being achieved everywhere.
