As part of its work with the EU Candidate Countries, ECDC held a workshop in Skopje following a request from the Minister of Health to the ECDC Director. ECDC was asked to provide health communication expertise in support of various health initiatives being undertaken in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. ECDC has received funding from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement to work with the EU Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries to help them prepare for integration into the EU’s system of disease prevention and control.
