329 cases including 205 deaths have been confirmed until 10 November. This is the largest-ever Ebola virus disease outbreak reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and it is now threatening the neighbouring countries of Rwanda and Uganda.
Ready-to-eat salmon products, such as cold-smoked and marinated salmon, are the likely source of a listeriosis outbreak affecting Denmark, Germany and France since 2015. Twelve cases, including four deaths, matched the outbreak strain identified by whole genome sequencing.
In early October, 9 autochthonous cases of dengue were reported in the EU: 3 in Spain and 6 in France. The likelihood of onward local transmission into other areas in the EU/EEA with sustained local transmission is very low.
