On 13 and 14 April 2016, the Third Annual Meeting of the Emerging and Vector-borne Diseases (EVD) Network will gather in Stockholm nominated EVD National Focal Points from the EU/EEA Member States and representatives of the EU enlargement countries.  The participants will review and advise on the ECDC activities in the area of EVD surveillance, prevention and control, epidemiological and scientific aspects at EU level. They will also share recent experiences from the Member States perspective.

During the event the ECDC experts will present the EVD programme activities in the past year, and will collect feedback on the priorities and actions in the current work programme of the Centre, as well as its planning for the next years. The national representatives will showcase recent experiences in the area of surveillance and control of EVD in the Member States, such as Zika, tularemia,  West Nile fever, mosquito- and tick-borne diseases.

The programme for Emerging and Vector-borne Diseases (EVD), one of the seven disease programmes at ECDC, covers notifiable diseases such as Hantavirus infection, Q fever, tick-borne encephalitis, tularaemia, West Nile fever, viral haemorrhagic fevers, dengue, chikungunya, yellow fever, malaria, rabies, plague, and non-notifiable diseases such as Lyme borreliosis and new emerging infectious threats. Since 2013, the EVD programme works closely with a dedicated network of National Focal Points (NFPs) from EU/EEA Member States on emerging and vector-borne diseases.
