The general objective of the sessions is to brief Member States representatives about ECDC's Preparedness and Response activities.
The general objective of the sessions is to brief Member States representatives about ECDC's Preparedness and Response activities, particularly on epidemic intelligence, the emergency operations centre (EOC), and the response activities, including the deployment of outbreak assistance teams.
Specifically, the briefings aim to:
- Get familiar with ECDC as a European agency, including its mandate, internal structure and organisation, functions and values;
- Familiarize participants with the existing relevant procedures at ECDC, specifically its epidemic intelligence procedures, operations of EOC, guiding principles for outbreak response, and the deployment of outbreak assistance teams (OAT);
- Strengthen relationships between ECDC and respective counterparts in Member State agencies.

E-learning course on how to increase influenza vaccination uptake
It is important that healthcare workers (HCWs) get vaccinated against seasonal influenza since they can get influenza from, and transmit influenza to, patients and other HCWs. This e-learning course has been developed since seasonal influenza vaccination of HCWs is recommended in Europe but vaccination uptake remains low in most countries. It provides information about how to assess the uptake and barriers to vaccination, as well as examples of successful campaigns that have increased the vaccination among HCWs.
