Training course: Ebola and Marburg Diagnostic
The purpose of the course was to strengthen the preparedness for Ebola diagnostic in EU and ensure an adequate laboratory response.
Due to the extent of the Ebola virus (EBOV) outbreak in West Africa and the ongoing risk of importation of Ebola virus disease (EVD) to the EU, increased testing of individuals for EVD in Europe was expected.
The training was aimed at laboratory staff and managers involved in the routine processing of infectious specimens, and especially those who work with high risk pathogens under BSL3/BSL2 conditions.
