Tick-borne encephalitis, or TBE, is a human viral infectious disease that most often manifest as meningitis, encephalitis, or meningoencephalitis but also, sometimed as mild febrile illnesses. TBE is caused by tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). A vaccine is available and may be advised to travellers to endemic areas in Northern Europe and Northern Asia.
