This is the first report from ECDC on the enhanced surveillance of hepatitis B and C viral infections. It aims to describe basic trends and epidemiological features of both diseases across countries in the EU/EEA for the years 2006–2011.
Hepatitis B - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2016
In 2016, 30 EU/EEA Member States reported 29 307 cases of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, corresponding to a crude rate of 5.5 cases per 100 000 population.
Hepatitis B - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2017
In 2017, 30 EU/EEA Member States reported 26 907 cases of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Excluding the five countries that only reported acute cases, the number of cases, 26 262, corresponds to a crude rate of 6.7 cases per 100 000 population.
