Epidemiological update: Chikungunya case in Spain without travel history to endemic areas (false alert)
On 11 September, Authorities in Valencia – Spain acknowledged that the case of Chikungunya reported 3 August 2015 is a false positive. Laboratory investigation conducted by the National Reference laboratory in Madrid did not confirm the initial results.
Epidemiological update: Measles - monitoring European outbreaks, 6 April 2017
In Europe, measles cases have been reported in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Sweden as well as in Romania, where 4 025 cases have been reported as of 31 March 2017.

ECDC rapid risk assessment: Influenza of possible swine origin in human in Spain
Influenza of swine origin detected retrospectively in a human with illness in November 2008. Swine influenza (SI) is an acute viral infection of the respiratory tract in pigs. Subclinical infections are also common. The mortality is low and recovery usually occurs within 7-10 days.
Outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in a hotel in Calpe, Spain. December 2011 – January 2012
Following notification of a cluster of cases of Legionnaires’ disease, all associated with the same hotel in Spain, ECDC has prepared an assessment of the risk to the EU.
It concludes that as the hotel has been closed, the residual risk is limited to recent hotel visitors and staff, as well as staff still working in the hotel; particularly those involved in the implementation of control measures.
