European Antibiotic Awareness Day 2018
European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD) is a European health initiative coordinated by ECDC. It provides a platform and support for national campaigns on the prudent use of antibiotics in the EU/EEA and it is marked each year across Europe on 18 November.
One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working
For EAAD 2018 ECDC will host the event “One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working” where ECDC will present the latest estimates of the health burden of antibiotic resistance, and the new data on the prevalence of healthcare-associated infections and of antimicrobial consumption in acute care hospitals and long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA.
ECDC/EFSA Regional workshop on One Health approach against antimicrobial resistance in EU pre-accession countries
The overall aim of the workshop was to boost the advancement in this field, to reflect on the work done by countries, to share experiences with EU/EEA Member States, and to identify key priority areas that need to be addressed at regional level in Western Balkans.
World Hand Hygiene Day 2019
Each year on 5 May, the “SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands” campaign takes place as part of a major global effort led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve hand hygiene in healthcare settings.
