World Tuberculosis Day 2026

News
World Tuberculosis Day, marked each year on 24 March, is an occasion to raise awareness and advocate for efforts to eliminate TB.

To mark the occasion, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, releases the latest tuberculosis surveillance data. While there is encouraging progress, the reality is that challenges, such as multidrug-resistant TB and underdiagnosis, continue to demand urgent attention.

ECDC remains dedicated to supporting countries in their efforts to eliminate TB and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
