Joint ECDC/EUPHA meeting on health communication for innovation in the EU: a focus on communicable diseases

Individuals and organisations interested in health communication practice and research gathered in Stockholm on 18–19 May 2009 to discuss the current status of practice and research dedicated to promoting health literacy in the EU.
They initiated a network focused on sharing innovation to improve health communication and identified opportunities and challenges associated with developing communicable diseases-related health communication based on published research and evidence on effectiveness.
