Since the beginning of the 2018 transmission season and as of 14 June 2018, no human or equine cases of West Nile fever have been reported by EU Member States and neighbouring countries.

West Nile virus infection
West Nile virus (WNV) infection is a mosquito-borne zoonosis. The virus is transmitted among birds via the bite of infected mosquitoes and incidentally humans and other mammals may become infected.
