ECDC's service standards and values
Certain service standards and values guide the ECDC in its work. These include transparency, independence and open access to scientific content. ECDC also strives to be a quality-driven, service-minded organisation that acts as one team.
As stated in its Founding Regulation, ECDC was established to provide the European Union with independent advice on threats to human health posed by communicable disease.
Transparency and open access to scientific content
As a publicly funded EU agency, ECDC works to ensure it is open and transparent about its operations and funding.
The ECDC authorship policy provides guidance for authors of written work produced by, or on behalf of ECDC, including for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
