News story

On 13-14 September 2023, a team of ECDC experts travelled to Podgorica to meet with representatives from the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro.

The main aim of the visit was to identify areas in the surveillance of communicable diseases in Montenegro where further work would be required to implement the EU acquis on serious cross-border health threats and related ECDC standards and practices.

The ECDC expert group was tasked with identifying specific country needs, vulnerabilities and strengths, and areas for improvement, including aspects that might benefit from ECDC’s technical support, and to document the current situation in the country.
