HIV/AIDS surveillance in Europe 2012
With no clear indication of a decline in the number of diagnoses, HIV continues to be a major public health concern for Europe. In 2012, over 29 000 new cases were diagnosed in European Union and European Economic Area Member States; a rate of 5.8 cases in every 100 000 people.
This report, prepared jointly with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, presents data on HIV and AIDS for the whole European Region. Analyses are provided for the EU and EEA region, and also by geographical/epidemiological division of the WHO European Region.
