Since 2008, ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe co-ordinate enhanced HIV/AIDS surveillance in Europe covering all 53 countries in the WHO European Region.
The International AIDS Conference gathered those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. The AIDS 2012 programme presented new scientific knowledge and offered opportunities for dialogue on the major issues facing the global response to HIV.
In an expert meeting in Stockholm, identified synergies and gaps in the availability of sexual health data, programmes, initiatives and policies across Europe and possibilities for future work will be discussed.
This workshop brought together experts on HIV monitoring and reporting from EU Member States, ECDC, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), the European Commission, UNAIDS, the World Health Organization and the Civil Society Forum.
