Influenza virus characterisation, Summary Europe, May 2018
This is the fifth report of the 2017–18 influenza season. As of week 20/2018, nearly 240 000 influenza detections across the WHO Europe region have been reported.
Surveillance report: Avian influenza overview (February – May 2018)
The “Avian influenza overview” report is published quarterly and provide an update of the developments of avian influenza viruses in EU/EEA and worldwide, in particular with a view to describe the evolution of virus spread from certain regions towards the EU. In case of significant changes in the epidemiology of avian influenza, these reports could be needed more frequently.

Influenza virus characterisation, Summary Europe, March 2018
The ECDC Influenza Virus Characterisations Reports are published periodically and provides an overview of the technical details of the circulating influenza viruses, such as antigenic and genetic properties, with a reference to the current vaccine strains. It also summaries the developments of the viruses since the last report, as well as the main developments for the ongoing season.
6th Joint WHO/Europe–ECDC Annual European Influenza Surveillance Meeting
The joint annual influenza surveillance meeting by ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe will take place on 6 - 8 June 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Invited participants are epidemiological and virological surveillance experts nominated by national health authorities as well as representatives from international institutions, covering the 53 countries of the EU/EEA and the WHO European region. The meeting is by invitation only.

Weekly influenza update, week 20, May 2018
ECDC and WHO Europe monitors influenza activity in the WHO Europe region during the winter season and publishes weekly reports on the Flu News Europe website. This is the last weekly report of the influenza season 2017-18. During the summer, influenza reports will be provided on a monthly basis and published on 29 June, 3 August, 7 September and 5 October. The weekly reporting of influenza surveillance data will resume on 12 October 2018 for the 2018-19 season.

The objective of this report is to provide countries with advice on what social determinant and risk factor variables to collect and what definitions to use, and to propose information to be collected at the national and European level.
