The ECDC Communicable Disease Threats Report (CDTR) is a weekly bulletin for epidemiologists and health professionals on active public health threats. This issue covers the period from 4-10 November 2018 and includes updates on Middle East respiratory syndrome Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), measles, influenza, influenza A(H5N6), West Nile virus, Ebola virus disease, dengue and malaria.
For 2016, EU/EEA countries reported three cases of Lassa fever. Germany reported two cases, and Sweden reported one case. These were the first Lassa fever cases reported by EU/EEA countries since 2009 when two cases were reported by the United Kingdom.
Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a systemic STI caused by Chlamydia trachomatis serovars L1, L2, or L3. In 2016, 2 043 cases of LGV were reported in 22 countries.
