For 2020, 24 EU/EEA countries reported 59 cases of chikungunya virus disease, of which 52 (88%) were confirmed. This was the lowest number of cases reported at the EU/EEA level since 2016. The EU/EEA notification rate was <0.1 cases per 100 000 population.
