This report presents the results of the 12th round of the external quality assessment (EQA-12) scheme for typing of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC).
An EQA scheme for antimicrobial susceptibility testing in Neisseria gonorrhoeae has been available to laboratories participating in ECDC’s European Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) surveillance network since 2010. According to the latest ECDC Annual Epidemiological Report (AER) issued today, 3 650 tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) cases were reported in 20 EU/EEA countries in 2022. Most cases occurred between June and November, with July having the highest number of reported cases.
For 2022, 20 European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) countries reported 3 650 cases of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), 3 516 (96.3%) of which were confirmed.
