Dr. Andrea Ammon attended the 76th World Health Assembly
On 22-24 May, Andrea Ammon attended the 76th meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) World Health Assembly (WHA), which took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
Andrea Ammon was invited to participate as part of the Delegation of the European Union. She had bilateral meetings with the Africa CDC Director General, Dr Jean Kaseya, and with the WHO Regional Office for Africa Director for Programme Management, Dr Joseph Cabore.
The WHA is the world's highest health policy setting body and is composed of health ministers from 194 member states, who generally meet every year in May at the WHO Headquarters. The main tasks of the WHA are to agree major policy questions, as well as to approve the WHO work programme and budget.
