The International Congress of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) is one of the largest gatherings of respiratory professionals in the world and a platform for communicating important improvements in the understanding and treatment of lung disease. 2014, Munich hosted the ERS’s 24th edition on the theme “Breathe Clean Air”. The scientific programme covered novelties, research and the most recent data on this topic and on the topics of tuberculosis, respiratory infections, lung cancer, sleep and control of breathing, allergy and immunology, pulmonary circulation and pulmonary vascular disease, among others. Over 4,200 abstracts were accepted.
