Technical Workshop: Burden of RSV disease in Europe
A technical workshop assessing the burden of disease caused by respiratory syncytial virus will be held.
A number of invited experts will come to ECDC to discuss currently available surveillance mechanisms for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) across European Union Member states; identify which data gaps exist and asses the RSV-related burden of disease.
The need and feasibility of establishing a European network of RSV researchers and public health agencies in order to stimulate activities improving the assessment of the burden of RSV disease in the EU will be evaluated at the meeting, as will the need to develop a joint research protocol for activities related to RSV disease burden.
