Participants in Time series analysis module training course 2022

The training course provided fellows with basic definitions and concepts for the different types and models of time series used in public health surveillance and research, and with the skills needed to perform, interpret, and communicate the results of time-series analysis. Participants also acquired competencies regarding time-series data analysis, inferential statistics and written communication.

The training course included interactive presentations by facilitators, practical group exercises and individual work sessions supervised by module facilitators. After each practice session, facilitators organised a wrap-up on the main outcomes and lessons learned.

Background

The Mediterranean and Black Sea Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (MediPIET) aims to enhance health security in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea region. It does so by supporting capacity building for prevention and control of threats posed by communicable diseases through the implementation of a long-term regional Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP), Training of Trainers activities (ToTs), annual scientific events and other capacity building and networking activities.

MediPIET is part of the  EU Initiative on Health Security, a five-year programme (2020–2025) aimed at enhancing public health preparedness and response capacities of the European Union enlargement and the European Neighbourhood partner countries.
