The objective of this meeting was to kick-off the project "VectorNet: A European network for sharing data on the geographic distribution of arthropod vectors, transmitting human and animal disease agents" and establish clear arrangements between all project partners.
EDCC launched a tender to produce guidelines to assist Member States to implement invasive mosquito vector surveillance and improve coverage and harmonization of data collection within the EU.

The European network for arthropod vector surveillance for human public health (VBORNET), funded by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, holds its second annual general meeting at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, on 18-20 April 2011
