​High-level meeting to discuss the burden of TB and MDR TB and its elimination as a public health problem in the EU/EEA and Eastern Partnership countries.

​This Conference took place under the Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union. It aimed at discussing sustainable health systems responses to support tuberculosis prevention and control globally, reduce the burden of tuberculosis and Multidrug Resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and to ultimately eliminate TB and MDR-TB in EU/EEA and Eastern Partnership countries.

The meeting brought together Ministers and high-level officials from national governments, international and non-governmental organisations and was organised by the Latvian Ministry of Health, in cooperation with WHO Europe, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership, the TB Europe Coalition and the European Commission.
