Epidemiological update: Schmallenberg virus in the European Union, 13 March 2012Archived

23 Apr 2012 - Since November 2011, Schmallenberg virus has been reported in cattle, sheep and goats in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, Italy and more recently in Spain.

19 Feb 2012 - The Schmallenberg virus has been recently reported in Italy and Luxembourg.

15 Feb 2012 - Since November 2011, a newly recognised virus, provisionally named ‘Schmallenberg’ virus, has been reported in cattle, sheep and goats in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom  and France. Additionally, one bison has been confirmed positive for Schmallenberg virus in Germany.
