First annual meeting of the European hepatitis B and C surveillance networkArchived
The first annual meeting of the European hepatitis B and C surveillance network takes place on 23-24 March 2011. Since 2009, ECDC has worked on preparing the enhanced surveillance of hepatitis B and C at EU/EEA level by establishing a network for hepatitis B and C surveillance and by carrying out a survey on prevention and surveillance activities in the Member States.
The first annual meeting of the European hepatitis B and C surveillance network takes place on 23-24 March 2011. Since 2009, ECDC has worked on preparing the enhanced surveillance of hepatitis B and C at EU/EEA level by establishing a network for hepatitis B and C surveillance and by carrying out a survey on prevention and surveillance activities in the Member States.
The annual meeting has the following overall objectives:
- To review the draft framework for hepatitis B and C surveillance in Europe;
- To review the proposals for case definitions for hepatitis B and C for EU surveillance;
- To review in detail the objectives for hepatitis surveillance and the proposed set of variables;
- To discuss the reporting of clusters and outbreaks of hepatitis B and C at EU level;
- To present some national studies, state of the art lectures for expert discussions with respect to hepatitis B and C.
Participants will be nominated contact points for hepatitis surveillance in EU/EEA countries and representatives of EU agencies, Commission and civil society.
